Ella Reid // An award-winning Austin-based songwriter, Ella Reid has never been particularly interested in staying in one musical lane. Americana, country, soul, jazz and pop have all found their way into her music, held together by a powerful voice and a songwriter’s instinct for telling the truth—even when that truth is funny, messy, vulnerable or a little uncomfortable.

That same openness carries into Reid’s live performances. Whether she’s commanding a room or pulling an audience into a quieter moment, connection is always at the center. She has become a familiar presence on Texas stages including the Saxon Pub and Poodie’s Hilltop Roadhouse. Reid first gained recognition at the Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival, winning the NSAI Songwriting Contest in 2009 and returning the following year to place third.

Now Reid is entering a new creative chapter with her upcoming EP, Nobody But Me. The title says a lot about where she is now: more comfortable in her own skin, less interested in fitting neatly into anyone else’s idea of who she should be, and willing to follow a song wherever it wants to go.

That freedom runs through the record. These are songs about knowing your worth, choosing yourself, loving deeply, letting go, having fun and accepting that all of those things can belong to the same person. Musically, that means Reid can move from Texas storytelling to soul, pop and jazz without feeling the need to explain herself. Nobody But Me isn’t about reinventing Ella Reid. It’s about embracing the woman and artist who was already there.

With new music on the horizon and more shows ahead, Reid continues to build her career the way she always has: one song, one room and one genuine connection at a time.
