House Concerts

How it Works

House concerts are intimate and unique musical performances that usually occur inside someone's living room, backyard, or even more peculiar places.  House concerts have gained popularity throughout the last several years, especially as music venues have been closing their doors and struggling to bring in audiences.  Typically, a house concert "host" will be the one to promote the event to their own neighborhood, friends, and co-workers.  Many times, the events are private, but they can also be open to the public.  The host will charge an entry fee (generally $10-$25 per person) at the door,  which goes to the performing artist.  The artist performs acoustically (no sound system sometimes), and guests can bring their own food/drink to the event.  The wonderful thing about house concerts is that the audience is up-close and personal with the performer, even conversing with them and asking them questions about their songs during the performance.  House concerts have been among the most powerful, unique and memorable experiences for many music lovers.
